Good Evening.  This is ______, _______ in Colorado Springs.  I will be your Net Controls Station for tonight's 2-Meter Simplex Net for the Pikes Peak Radio Amateur.  This net meets every Thursday evening at 7:00PM local time on this frequency.  No club affiliation is required and all amateurs are encouraged to participate.

The purpose of this net is to:

   1. Practice simplex communications should local repeaters become unavailable.

   2. Provide a forum for the Radio Club board members to make announcements or provide general information.

   3. And provide a place for Amateur Radio Operators to get together and learn what's going on concerning personal and organized activities in the Pikes Peak Region.

This net is a directed net only to eliminate confusion during the net and because of the number of participants anticipated. So please wait for an acknowledgement from NCS before offering comments or other business.  When checking in, please give your name and location and use approved ITU phonetics.  After each check-in I will repeat your call and ask for the next check-in.  I will ask for relays at the end of each group of check-ins.  As this is a social net (i.e. no traffic and no net reports) we encourage no "short time" or "in and out" check-ins.  If you check-in, I will come back to you for comments.   Also please be sure to clear with your call sign once you are finished with your comments.   Again, when checking in please give your call, name and location.
